Instead of having your tongue dictate how you will nourish your body let your brain remind you of all the nutritious foods you need on a daily basis and as an extra bonus you will love the way you look naked.  If you want to lose belly fat eat foods like fruits, low-fat dairy, grains, nuts, fish, and vegetables.  You will want to stay away from products that have added sugar and meats with high amounts of saturated fats.


Age is another factor that contributes to belly fat.  As women get older and their estrogen levels decrease they may see increased belly fat.  Loss of muscle mass comes with aging too, and affects how many calories we burn.  This makes it harder to maintain a healthy weight and is why fat increases with age.


Stress is also a big contribution for belly fat, stress produces the hormones called cortisol and inflammatory substances called cytokines that affect the body’s production of insulin. This results in worse than just being generally overweight; you’re looking at increased risks of diseases like type 2 diabetes and heart conditions.

Lack of time to exercise?


The lack of time is one of the most common reasons affecting a person’s workout and weight loss efforts. If you are one of the people who often has this problem, you should try to find a program that will fit your busy schedule.  Getting on a schedule is key to being successful in your goal to lose belly fat.   Given the fact that most of us tend to lack consistency, this is the exact reason why you must be strategic with your schedule, meal planning, and personal life.time-flying

The only way to lose belly fat is to reduce your overall body fat.  You can do all the ab exercise you want to but this isn’t enough to help you lose belly fat.  It takes a proper eating and exercise so you can shed pounds and lower body fat in order to lose belly fat.  Adding exercise to your daily routine will speed up your metabolism so you can shed pounds and lose belly fat.  Walking, aerobics and jogging are some things you can do to get started.  Once you have your schedule right you should add strength training 1 or 2 times a week.

How much is too much?


So how do you know if you have too much belly fat?  Take a measurement of your waist and your hips, this gives you the waist to hip ratio.  This is an easy way to see if you are at risk and have too much belly fat.  Earlier we said men and women store fat differently so you have two body shapes, apple, and pear.


Women normally are pear shaped and the lower body is where the fat is stored.  Pear shapes have a smaller waist to hip ratio, while apple shapes have a larger ratio.  This is why apple shaped people have too much belly fat.  You can measure your body mass index to find your overall body fat percent.  Women should have a hip to waist ratio of no more than 0.85 and men 0.9.
